Funding
New Performing Arts is committed to balance and long-term
sustainability in the financing of its programming. This means
two things:
Schools and communities that receive NPA programs are always
required to pay a substantial portion of their cost – $1 to
$1.50 per child in most cases. As a result of a decade of
consistency in this policy, New Performing Arts has generated
over $1 million in new local arts funding across Kentucky,
funding that is now a regular and sustainable part of the
budgets of many schools and communities.
In spite of this high level of financial participation,
schools and communities receiving NPA programs and services
are unable to cover the full cost year after year. New
Performing Arts therefore raises over $100,000 per year in
subsidy – about $1 per child – in order to ensure that the
remaining cost is within the means of schools and communities
everywhere in Kentucky.
The simple reality is this: without the support of
contributors from Kentucky and throughout the country, the
programs of New Performing Arts are impossible.
